Most Eichler homes look right with a flat, flush garage door with clean horizontal lines, in steel, wood-look, wood or glass. Terra Linda has about 900 Eichlers, and Lucas Valley and Marinwood more than 350. Chen Garage Door installs Eichler doors, often on a low-headroom track.

Can a new door fit an Eichler's low ceiling?
Usually. Low-headroom tracks need far less room than standard tracks, some as little as about 4½ inches above the opening. We measure headroom, backroom and side room at the quote visit.
Can the center post come out for one wide door?
On many Eichler double openings, the center post is part of the structure. We keep it and fit two single doors, which also keeps the original look.
Which opener works under a low roof?
A wall-mount opener sits beside the door on the wall instead of hanging from the ceiling, which helps under an Eichler's low roofline.
